Obituary for Margaret Toma Esshaki

Dear family and friends, we regret the loss of Margaret Esshaki, the loving wife of the late Faik Esshaki.
Marguerite Esshaki's favorite quote states that, "some people, like flowers, give pleasure just by being." Her life was dedicated to the cultivation of those flowers: her family and friends--and if you were in her presence for any length of time, it was understood that you were going to be welcomed into that fold. Marguerite's garden had room for everyone because her empathy was limitless. Marguerite came to America, from Iraq, at age 17, attended Wayne State University, was president of the Chaldean Ladies of Charity for a term, and gave, generously, to various organizations and individuals. Marguerite viewed her mission as being the matriarch of the Esshaki family. Married to Faik Esshaki for 58 years, Marguerite demonstrated unwavering love and care for him in the happiest times and through his illness and passing in 2018. She raised her four children with boundless and genuinely, unconditional love also modeled for them what compassion, generosity, forgiveness, and love of family look like. Marguerite continued this maternal guidance with her 11 beloved grandchildren. She was blessed with two precious great-grandchildren. Beautiful, both inside and out, Marguerite Esshaki gave the world pleasure just by being.

The late Marguerite Esshaki is survived by Zena Naimi (Faris), Sheila (Eric Sturm), Michael (Dina), Robert (Jayne), 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
